When I look back over the last year, I’m always amazed at how fast it goes. I used to roll my eyes at “the days are long but the years are short,” because when my kids were little, every day felt endless. Now I wish the days were longer, the years moved slower, and I could hold onto each season just a little more.

You’re the little Texan girl we could have never imagined, and you’ve filled our lives with joy from the start. Fierce in friendship, tender in your care for others (especially your Rory-girl), steady on and off the softball field, and quietly determined in all you do—you shine with a beauty that’s inside and out ☀️
You lead the way as the oldest cousin and first grandchild. You are a kind big sister to Grady, even when it's a challenge. You dive into stories and God’s Word with a heart that listens and learns. Everywhere you go, you carry light. We’re so thankful for you, sweet girl.

Happy 6th Birthday to my Grady-man!
What a year it’s been for Grady. Since last December 21st, we’ve wrapped up Pre-K, started kindergarten, played a ton of baseball, made lots of new friends, put together 68,279 LEGOs, gained some independence, and gotten stitches in the chin and staples in the head.
I cannot believe we are here, at the end of 2022. A few weeks ago my book club met for December and did our annual book swap, which is one of my favorite things of the year!

This morning I finished reading/studying my 28th book of the Bible since January 1, 2021. It hasn’t been perfect — I’ve gotten behind, I haven’t understood, I haven’t retained information I probably should already know, I’ve felt bored at times, I’ve cried, I’ve felt hard-hearted, I’ve put it off, I’ve been convicted, I’ve prayed over it, I’ve avoided hard prayers, I’ve learned, I’ve been arrogant — it’s been a journey, but here I am.
