I have been waiting to share this Friday Favorite for several months now. I'm almost giddy with excitement about this, you guys! It's a little unconventional, but by now you should know that's how I do things. Let's rewind so I can explain what in the world I'm talking about.

To be perfectly honest, I had something else that I was planning to review today, but that'll have to wait for another week. After spending almost a full week in Florida, I just can't help but brag on the little float that could.

You guys are in for a HUGE treat. I love having guest authors for mrsblogbacktome and this is no exception. My amazing friend, Melanie Adkison and I have known each other since right after she and her sweet family moved to Birmingham in 2012 to plant a church (which is now the church we're a part of). Melanie is wife to Andy, and mom to Jude (9) and Drew (8). The first time I met her was at her house and she made dinner for a group of people. Melanie has a gift of bringing people into her home and immediately making them feel like family. She is the best listener, but is also incredibly encouraging. I just love hanging out with her, talk to her, and learn from her. Melanie is a fifth grade teacher, and when I asked her to write something about going back to school, I could have never imagined she'd bestow so much wisdom in just a one post. I told you, she's amazing, so without further adieu, here's Melanie...

This mascara is weird, so I've actually walked away from it several times over the last year or so, but I always come back. Why is it weird? Well, it forms little tubes around your eye lashes, so when it gets submerged in water, it just peels off. But it doesn't run - like AT ALL!

A few years ago my dentist informed me that I needed to start taking better care of my teeth. Until that point, I was somebody who never flossed, and pretty much just brushed my teeth in the morning, but I'd only ever had one cavity so I didn't have much motivation to change my habits. I know, that's probably grossing some people out, but I've gotten better, I promise :) Much of my improved dental hygiene is thanks to Quip!
Read moreDawn
For about six months I used to wake up promptly at 5:00 a.m., before the day began, before dawn. It's been almost five years since I was that newlywed living in a little, old apartment on a familiar side of town. I'd get up early, drag myself a quarter-mile down the hill to the paved neighborhood trail, and I'd walk. I'd also listen to sermons. And I'd pray.

I had my dream job. I had my dream boss. I had fought my way to where I was. I had my plan. I was living that plan. And all of a sudden, it was gone.

This post has been a long time coming. When we moved into our house in 2013, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with the small, back room. Originally we used it as an office for Jason, but I assured him that as soon as we had a child, he'd get kicked out.
