Monat: Life Changing Hair Products

I'm all about a gimmick and I'll try just about any product at least once. So when my friend, Melanie, began selling Monat hair products, of course I had to see what all the fuss was about.

Melanie posted this picture and said that this was done with just a blowout, no flat iron. I was like, "WHAT?!" because I'm the queen of frizz, especially when I blow dry my hair. When I saw this, I thought this had to be after a month of using this product, but when I asked Melanie about it, she said this was after ONE USE! WHAT?! So of course I had to try it for myself.

You guys, I'm not joking when I say that I'm in love with these products. I used the RENEW Shampoo and the REVITALIZE Conditioner. After the first use, I went to Florida (hello humidity), went to the beach, swam in the pool (I didn't get my hair fully submerged though), and I kid you not, I did not have to restyle my hair halfway through the day before dinner, which I've always had to do.

My second use was even better. I washed my hair on Monday and then blow dried it, and ran a flat iron through it quickly just because my ends curl up like the 1970s and I'm not good with a round brush. After this, I went through three days of VBS with tons of kids running around, rain, humidity, and so much more, and I still have not had to restyle it or wash it until Friday! I used a little bit of dry shampoo (this one) on Wednesday and Thursday. I am planning to try the Monat dry shampoo in my next order. Typically, I wash my hair every other day, so this is a BIG deal to me. Even on days three and four, hair didn't even feel dirty, but rather felt super healthy.

I ordered the Magnify System, which includes the RENEW Shampoo, REVITALIZE Conditioner, and the MOXIE Magnifying Mousse. I also joined as a VIP member to get free shipping and 15% off of my order, and they sent me a curl cream for FREE!

Let's talk costs, because I usually buy cheap shampoo from Target. My system was $99 minus the 15% for being a VIP customer, so it was $84. That's a huge hump from the $10 I normally spend on my hair products. BUT, as I get older, I'm really trying to take care of myself better, and Monat is such a great product that is really healthy for hair. Also, it doesn't have much water in it and is much more concentrated than most hair products, so a little goes a long way, which means the whole bottle will last a few months, rather than a few weeks, like my Target stuff. If there was a drawback to Monat, though, it would be the price, in my opinion.

Next time, I'm thinking about ordering The CHAMP - Conditioning Dry Shampoo and the Tousled Texturizing Mist. They also have men's products, so I'll be getting Jason the 2-1 shampoo and conditioner in my next order as well!
