I have been waiting to share this Friday Favorite for several months now. I'm almost giddy with excitement about this, you guys! It's a little unconventional, but by now you should know that's how I do things. Let's rewind so I can explain what in the world I'm talking about.
My amazing husband, Jason, has been filming weddings since 2007. That's a whole decade, y'all, and it's making me feel a little O-L-D. He kind of accidentally fell into this, honestly. He was a broadcast major in college, so when he graduated from Samford he had a few friends who were in the process of planning their weddings. Several asked if he would mind filming their wedding, and of course Jason said he would.
It's fun to go back and watch those videos now and see how much has changed, both with technology and Jason's mad skills :)
Since that time, Jason has filmed a lot more weddings, bought more gear than I can wrap my brain around, and built an entire career around videography. Even though wedding videography is still his "side gig" (really, more just like his other, more than part-time job in addition to his full-time job), he's built an incredible business around this, and I couldn't be more proud of him.
Giving up many of his Saturdays for filming and weeknights to edit has allowed us to do so many things like adopt (shoutout to Miss Brighten Morales), travel, do house projects, give a bit more generously, and much more. Jason is the hardest worker I know, and that's why writing this Friday Favorite about his side hustle gives me so much joy!
This spring as we began planning ahead for wedding season, we decided that we needed to take this operation up notch. A few years ago, I threw together a very makeshift website for A Morales Production that basically just had a pricing guide and links to Vimeo. A few years later, I created a better website, but it still wasn't exactly what we wanted and needed it to be. As Jason upped his videography game, we decided it was time to up our website game as well to reflect the productions he is generating.
So, a few weeks ago, we launched a newly branded and newly constructed website!
We chose to outsource this project since neither of us had the bandwidth to put the time and energy in to getting this thing exactly how we wanted it. Jason has (finally) adopted the outlook of paying someone else to do the great work if you don't have time/ability/bandwidth to do make it great yourself. That's always been my outlook on life, but I'm happy to see that my husband has come to see things my way these days. So, we hired Alex Lucas from AL Creative to rebrand and design our new website.
You guys will totally see why this is my Friday Favorite this week once you take a look at how AWESOME everything looks. I love the new logo, the colors, the copy (mostly written by yours truly, not to toot my own horn or anything, but I just love how it all works together), and mostly I love how user friendly it is. Finally, after 10 years, Jason has a website that reflects him, his work, and his talent.
So without further adieu, here is a little preview of the all new and improved A Morales Production:
If you or someone you know is planning a wedding, please pass along our site! We do very little advertising and mostly operate on word of mouth referrals. It should also be said that we do videography for corporate companies and events, nonprofit organizations, fundraisers, event slideshows, and more!
