We are now #12 on the waiting list!!
We are beyond thrilled for the movement that happened in September - TWO referrals, which means two children have been matched with their forever families. As we get closer to receiving our referral, it has begun to feel much more real.
Our prayer requests remain the same:

Families traveling for court dates and to bring home their children
Peace for our family as we wait

New Job & Adoption Fundraiser
As some of you may know, I have taken a new job and will be the Development Director at Alabama CASA (court appointed special advocates for children) beginning October 5th. I'm so excited for this opportunity because it will allow me to work from home when Judah arrives! It's such a relief and blessing to know that I'll be able to be with our little one as we transition into a family of three (and a half - Swanson).
Without getting into all of the details, this new position came after some changes to my position at Grace House that cut a significant amount of my income, plus insurance, maternity leave, and any paid time off.
But, the Lord always provides. The same day that I found out about the changes to my position, I was approached about becoming a part of a fundraiser to help us with our adoption funds.
Long story (kind of) short - we would love for you to sign up for the Wyatt Project's 2015 Santa Charity event. The team, Deidre Ruth Photography and friends, will create a custom Santa portrait experience (15 minute mini-session) for local families with all of the profits benefiting adoptive families (that's us!).
The Wyatt Project's 2015 Santa Charity will be held on December 5th and 6th at a beautiful farm in Warrior (about 30 minutes from downtown Birmingham). We would love for you to sign up to participate and help us bring our baby boy home! If all goes as planned, this fundraiser will help get us really close to our fundraising goal!
